A "time out"? Perhaps Smitherman should take time out and decide on a platform. How can you run for office without telling voters your plans for a better city? Maybe he doesn't have any original ideas. Being a professional politician, perhaps he likes the same old, same old City Hall with nothing to add. Since announcing his candidacy, Smitherman has spoken out about two issues: The possible outsourcing of city services and a bike lane rethink. Two blatant rip offs of Rocco Rossi's platform. A platform based on tweaking another candidate's position is not leadership or vision. More like a Lazy Boy quarterback calling "should have" plays when the real leaders are out there on the field. If Smitherman thinks he can rest on his Provincial political laurels and walk into city hall, he's going to have a big wake up call. Torontians won't easily forget his dubious Ministry of Health leadership leading to Ontario's e-health scandal. And his lack of vision and leadership during this campaign. It's time
