<description>During the last 8 years councillors and the outgoing mayor have Increased Taxes Over the actual rate of inflation by almost 20%, which is not a prudence practice with taxpayer’s money.
A new mayor and council must ensure that all departmental spending is capped at the rate of inflation and further all budgets must be done on zero based budgeting process commencing with the 2011 budget any new mayor and new councillors as a minimum start in the right direction to correct Toronto’s fiscal crisis.

<description>I had a direct point about utilizing science and technology with research and development from major partners like our universities as part of my platform from day one. The main reason was not to find solutions but to curb the bias and politics that plagues decision-making around our plans and programs that shape our city - something Smitherman has missed.

I am wary of so many promises made on a daily basis by politicians just to garner attention. One week its more subways, the next its more police. Where is the money coming from for all of this? If he learned to go to the people and ask what they want, it might be a good first step - even when with the Province, but that never materialized like so many other Provincial promises. Also, many questions from the community on policing powers. After the G20, we need a serious look at the culture and direction of policing in this town - not arbitrary increases.</description>

<description>It appears that unfortunately there were no proposals for correcting the current fiscal crisis that exists.

Encouraging people to ride bikes or take transit or just buy electric cars and support green job are all great ideas but will not solve the fiscal crisis facing Toronto and all our communities.

<description>Torontonians are united from the suburbs to the city core and know far better than these self serving incumbent councillors of the past 25 plus years when it comes to the TTC.

First to spend 30 MILLION for a new office is a waste of money and a continuation of the out of control spending habits by this council.

Second the majority of Torontonians know that our TTC urgently needs a New Chairman, a New Board, New revised Transit City Plan and a firm commitment from the federal and provincial governments to assist cities with existing public transit systems by immediately giving all cities a percentage of the existing gasoline and diesel taxes based on population alone.

If our provincial and federal government can afford a $13-billion bailout for-Chrysler-GM in their attempt to save some 18,000 jobs, it should be a no brain err that they can afford to assist 3 MILLION citizens in Toronto alone with cash for public transit which would helps these 3 MILLION residents with their daily transportation needs and jobs.

Finally Toronto has a serious fiscal problem and chronic spending habit that is slowly yet quickly bankrupting this city. Chronic spending by incumbent councillors is not fiscally responsible or sustainable on the already overburdened tax payers and TTC riders.

<description>What’s his actual plan for spending our money more effectively?

The details please because when George was Health Minister, the E health predecessor, directly responsible and accountable for dispensing millions of dollars in untendered contracts, he clearly showed the voters that he could not manage the pennies relatively effectively let alone millions of dollars under his watch.

Now he proposes spending taxpayer’s money by rerouting wasted treated water for 20 cold water bath house showers for 4 months of the year at Toronto’s beaches along with a new tax in the guise of a &quot;swimming passport” for children!

What’s the cost for 4 months of accessibility by the creation of seasonal and weekend express bus routes to Toronto’s beaches and his 20 cold shower bath houses?

Some folks just do not get it or not had enough of the past decades of spending by the outgoing mayor and incumbent councillors?

Leadership in public office starts with curbing, reducing and controlling costs, regardless of how small or large such drops effect the mismanaged bucket of taxpayers’ money as it is the first small step in the right direction at curbing the past 25 years of chronic spending by incumbent councillors.

<description>Your whole assumptions are based on the return of these left leaning incumbent councillors with their chronic spending habits for unsustainable services and programs on the backs of renters, condo and homeowners and businesses alike that got Toronto into the fiscal mess in the first place over these past 25 plus years.

The majority of Torontonians in my opinion are ready and eager for CHANGE come October 25, 2010 and it does not include the return of these incumbent councillors.

Toronto One City, Your Vote, Our Future Together, Begins on October 25, 2010.

<description>Seems some folks appreciate the chronic spending habits of the outgoing mayor and incumbent councillors over Smitherman direct involvement and mishandling of SSHA which resulted in the E Health care scandal in excess of ONE BILLION DOLLARS when he was Health minister and E Health predecessor who directly was responsible and accountable for dispensing millions of dollars in untendered contracts has clearly shown the voters than he cannot managed a few pennies relatively effectively” let alone millions of dollars.

However Rob Ford has been effective in his personal efforts in controlling and proposals to curb the chronic outrageous spending habits of his fellow councillors and his popularity unlike that of Georges in my opinion will stand the test of time.

Candidates who cannot control the pennies will never have the ability to manage millions of dollars as the voters have witnessed with the E Health scandal.

<description>To make light of a criminal offense, NOT committed by Ford the candidate, but rather a very questionable character who illegal recorded a conversation and then made it public goes to show just how low and non respectful of the law some Torontonians have become.

It is not Rob Ford who is done, but rather this dubious character who set Ford up twice and has clearly demonstrated for all of us to see that his HIV condition is being used to further his own vendetta against Rob Ford even after this unscrupulous character was apologized too.

In my opinion he should get his two minutes of public glory in court and tried for illegally recording a private conversation and releasing it to the public through media establishment who themselves clearly show that they prefer anyone but Ford in attempts to ensure their grip on political power within city hall.
