1. What key issues define your campaign platform?
I support Transit City; fiscal accountability using an open budget initiative; electric trains not diesel; more daycare in our ward; assisting seniors to remain in their homes; engaging youth; ensuring small businesses can thrive in our community; using Toronto Hydro to create sustainable green jobs; protecting the environment; encouraging development that is appropriate to the community; prompt communication with constituents.

2. Why are you the best candidate for this position?
I have lived in the ward for 15 years with my husband and two children.  Been committed to serving the community as an active volunteer for over 10 years. Am passionate, dedicated and have proven that I can get things done. Support electric trains, more daycare, building a sustainable business community, working to keep seniors in their homes and engaging the youth. I have belonged to various community organizations including Swansea and Humberside School Councils, 11 Division Police Community Liaison Committee, Toronto District School Board’s Ward Council and Green 13, community environmental group.  Have built playgrounds, saved swimming pools, kept Swansea Memorial Library open, and solved many resident’s problems during the 6 years that I worked at the Swansea Town Hall. I will answer phone calls, return emails, consult with the community and continue my email newsletter keeping constituents up-to-date on issues and events in the ward.

3. What specifically do you plan to do in your ward, if elected?
I have invited organizations to form a Ward Council, which would meet quarterly. I am proposing that these meetings be timed to key events in the city council schedule, e.g., before the city budget process. These meetings will provide community leaders with a forum to work together with their councillor. I will also hold Town Hall meetings for residents on a broad range of issues. For example, community involvement with development and selecting where section 37 money (developer money provided to the city) will be spent. My staff and I will provide good customer service when residents contact my offices.

5. Who do you plan to support for Mayor?
I am still undecided. I am looking for a candidate who has a vision for our City. Who will work with council and the community to build a vibrant, economically and environmentally sustainable city for all Torontonians.  A city that is equitable, where everyone feels a part of and a place where we are proud to live and do business.  I will work with who ever is elected as Mayor.
