It’s anyone’s race in Ward 18 (Davenport) since incumbent Councillor Adam Giambrone has officially bowed out.

Giambrone’s decision comes after months of controversy, including a failed mayoral bid and an admission to several affairs.

Ward 18 is home to 45,620 people and is roughly bound by Dupont to the north, Dovercourt to the east, Dundas to the west and juts across as far south as King Street.

It is between the wards of Trinity-Spadina to the east and Parkdale-High Park to the west.

Key issues facing constituents are concerns over the Dundas Street streetcar and the effect its construction is having on the business strip. Parking is being cut back and business owners are worried about the effect it is having on their business.

There are also concerns about the economic development of business strips along Dundas and College streets.
