1. What key issues define your campaign platform?

As councillor for Ward 27, I will focus on fixing city hall by introducing an open, transparent and fiscally responsible multi-year budgeting process.
I will work to change the tone of city hall to focus on practical solutions.
I want to get Toronto moving by finding a permanent solution to gridlock that relies upon enhanced transit and pedestrian-friendly streets.
I will build our city by creating good jobs and by ensuring new development is environmentally sustainable and based on community input. I will prioritize infrastructure renewal: fixing potholes, sidewalks and water mains.
I will fight for an inclusionary zoning bylaw to build affordable housing for our families and seniors and I will appoint youth parks ambassadors to make our green spaces as child- and youth-friendly as possible.

2. Why are you the best candidate for this position?
My experience as a lawyer and in the not-for-profit sector, in bringing people together and representing diverse communities and my track record for getting things done makes me the best candidate.
For example, I was the founding president of a charity, the first of its kind in Canada, dedicated to producing renewable energy.
I envision a vibrant, sustainable and prosperous Toronto that provides opportunity for all of its residents: a city that inspires.
Accomplishing this vision will require hard work and toughness.
I grew up on a farm so I am no stranger to hard work. I make my living as a trial lawyer so I am used to standing up for principle in the face of opposition. I am ready to go to work for you.
I am ready to fight for each of our neighbourhoods.

3. What specifically do you plan to do for your ward, if elected?

I will ensure the residents of Ward 27 have a councillor who is responsive to their needs and returns their calls.
I will fight for an inclusionary zoning bylaw to build affordable housing downtown.
I will work for responsible investments in transit and ensure that Ward 27 gets its fair share of infrastructure money.
I would appoint a youth ambassador for each park in Ward 27 to ensure tour parks are as child- and youth-friendly as possible.

4. Please provide details on your personal bio.

I live and work in Ward 27 and have been active here for more than 10 years.
I am a founding board member of a local renewable energy charity; serve with Lawyers Feed the Hungry; am a longtime Pride participant; volunteer as a hockey coach in Moss Park and have donated my time as a pro-bono lawyer for the Child Advocacy Project.
I am a lawyer and have degrees in political science, international relations and peace studies.
I am committed to making Toronto the great city it deserves to be.

5. Who do you plan to support for mayor?

I am not endorsed by any mayoral candidate, nor have I endorsed any candidate. I will vote for the candidate with the boldest vision for our city and for the candidate that I believe can get council working together again and focused on practical solutions.
