1. What key issues define your campaign platform?
Toronto doesn’t have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem.
To meet our priorities we must get back to basics.
As your councillor, I will fight to get the buses running on time, to freeze taxes so businesses can prosper, make sure our streets are safe and clean, sewers are working, water is flowing and people are moving.
2. Why are you the best candidate for this position?
If you want to lay golden eggs, you cannot kill the goose.
The current council’s ideology ignores that simple fact.
I am neither a left- of right-wing candidate. I am a candidate for transparency, I am a candidate of integrity and I cannot be bought and sold by special interests.
I will represent every voter, not just the special interests of some.
Effective leadership requires taking tough measures, not appeasing voters with empty promises come election time.
We must open up our city to business and put an end to sole-sourced contracts and back room deals.
3. What specifically do you plan to do for your ward, if elected?
I will fight to freeze property taxes, and open up our books so you can see where your money is being spent.
I will bring back the centre lane on Jarvis Street.
The $6 million spent on the removal of the centre lane on Jarvis Street highlights the ideological approach city hall takes to transportation issues.
More than 28,000 drivers use Jarvis every day, including 1,700 vehicles a hour during the morning and evening rush.
There are existing bike lanes on Sherbourne that are underused. This was unnecessary and should be reversed.
4. Please provide details on your personal bio.
My recent community involvement includes the Bloor Yorkville BIA planning and preservation urban development committee.
I’ve worked closely with founding members of the Toronto Entertainment District BIA, Toronto’s second largest BIA. I also sit on the board of directors of the Civics Education Network, a hands-on civics engagement program for high school students.
I am the vice president of Business Development at Seniority Investments Ltd., where I’m responsible for the implementation of green technology. Seniority Investments is recognized for its commitment to heritage restoration.
5. Who do you plan to support for mayor?
I have not endorsed any candidate at this juncture. When elected, I am ready to work with any council and any mayor to improve this ward’s interests and quality of life.
