Ward 28 (Toronto Centre-Rosedale) is one of the city’s most culturally diverse municipal wards.

Home to a large population of new Canadians, large portions of the community have been traditionally underserved and neglected.

Now, with the ongoing redevelopment of Regent Park and a smaller-scale rejuvenation of Cabbagetown, the ward appears to be on the upswing.

Nonetheless, community safety continues to be a concern in portions of Ward 28, as does the need for more and better community supports and services.

While the recent community improvements – most notably the Regent Park project – will help alleviate some of those issues, there remains work to be done to support the ward’s many low-income residents.
