What key issues define your campaign platform?
1. Engaging Ward 29. Residents want to be better informed and engaged so they can be a part of the decisions that affect them. Better communication and outreach is key.
2. Transportation and transit is a priority. We need to get Toronto moving again and put together a plan that works for all modes of transportation. We need to work with Metrolinx, build subways, and improve the bike lane network on safe roads.
3. Support for our small businesses is vital to the economy and cutting spending and waste at city hall so we can invest in the services people want and keep taxes low.
4. Parking. We need solutions to address the parking rules and practices in this city to make them fair to everyone.
5. Community services. Investing in our youth and seniors to ensure they have the programs and support they need.

Why are you the best candidate for this position?
First and foremost, I am a local resident and not part of the old guard that has created the current situation at City Hall. Ward 29 is looking for a leader, someone with a proven track record in their professional and volunteer life. My educational background, my volunteer work with a local school, church and the Kiwanis Club, along with owning a business on the Danforth, has given me a great understanding of what issues families and residents of Ward 29 are facing. My ideas for change are achievable and will engage the community to get involved. My platform addresses all the areas of concern that I have heard at the door, and I will commit to bringing in a new approach and new ideas to this community. I am an independent candidate and will make my decisions based on the needs of my constituents, not party politics.

What specifically do you plan to do for your ward, if elected?
Engage and revitalize. I believe that residents of Ward 29 want to take part in building their community. I would open up the lines of communication through public meetings, electronic media, newsletters and events, to bring residents together to build a better tomorrow. Cleaning up our parks, fixing our roads, cutting waste at city hall and promoting our local businesses, will ensure our success. I will address issues of concern such as parking, public safety, youth and seniors and look for partnerships with grassroots local organizations. It’s time for change at city hall – new voices and new ideas.

Personal bio:
I am a local resident, Danforth business owner and mother of two. In my professional life, I am a senior lawyer with RBC, a board member for the Kiwanis Club, and a committee member for the Boys and Girls Club. I volunteer throughout the community including at my children’s school, my church and as a community soccer coach. Previous to being a lawyer, I worked as a Medical Biologist at a Toronto-area hospital. I received my Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) and Law Degree (LL.B) from the University of Toronto.

Who do you plan to support for mayor?
Rocco Rossi. We need fresh ideas at city hall and he is not a career politician which is appealing. His business experience and cooperative approach will benefit Toronto now and in the future.
