What are the key issues that define your campaign platform?
My experience and leadership defending neighbourhoods against large, incompatible development is an important skill I possess as your City Councillor in Beaches-East York.  Ours has become one of the most desirable communities in which to live, work and play and, as a result, development pressure has intensified, with the risk of a loss of heritage homes and our unique community character.  We must protect our community against intrusive development.
The City needs the 202 new Light Rail Vehicles ordered to replace the aging streetcar fleet. Replacing subway cars is essential, yet, public transit vehicles are under threat of budget-cuts as proposed by certain candidates.
Maintaining services, ensuring the Basement Flooding Study and improvements to safe drinking water infrastructure are not shelved and achieving a compassionate community, with Seniors remaining in their homes through special incentives and preserving earlier gains in Daycare spaces for our children: these are my goals.

Why are you the best candidate for this position?
I provide strong, effective local and City leadership.  My experience gives me the contacts and ‘know-how’ to get things done.
This term, I successfully advocated for:
*Basement Flooding Action Plan;
*Lead-pipe Renewal: enhancing drinking-water quality;
*Parks Improvements funding for Ashbridges Bay, East Lynn, Moncur, Stephenson and Ravine Management Plans;
*Creating Daycare spaces: new Enderby Daycare Centre;
*Preserving local programming: Kingston Road YMCA;
*Incentives to Stay in our Community: programs to defer or eliminate property tax increases for qualifying Seniors and Persons with Disabilities;
*Glen Stewart Walking Bridge;
*Beaches Library Addition and Restoration;
*Guaranteed No Incineration: Ashbridges Bay Sewage Treatment Plant;
*Waterfront Beach Water Quality Projects;
*New Skateboard Park and Second Phase funding;
*Ted Reeve Conference Hall;
*More Dog Off-Leash locations;
*Bike Path Network enhancements;
*Climate Change Initiatives: ‘Live Green’ and new Building Requirements.

What specifically do you plan to do for your ward, if elected?
* Establish a Ward Council structure to facilitate citizen engagement and communication of Ward and City issues. Continue my Community Constituency Evenings at various locations and continue my regular email newsletter.
* Fight to preserve projects this community needs: improvements in traffic signalization and speed reduction measures, full funding of the Basement Flooding Action Plan, vital parks improvements and ravine management plans.
* Ensure delivery of new vehicles for our transit system to renew the aging fleet.
* Work with residents to get best results on development proposals enhancing the character of our neighbourhoods.
* Continue work on Climate Change plans and the Waterfront Clean-Water Strategy.
