1. What key issues define your campaign platform?
Local COUNCILLOR Position is in many ways the most challenging and enterprising position among all levels of Government. This position, I strongly believe must be a non-partisan position and must be void of any political interference. Currently in ETOBICOKE (Ward # 1) the following issues need emergent attention and when elected these issues and action-plans will be my Top-Priority.
Working towards complete elimination of PVT (Personal Vehicle Tax) and MLTT (Municipal Land Transfer Tax), unnecessary imposed by the current regime of David Millar and his caucus.
Transportation and Transit is a “Lifeline” of any vibrant economy. I personally visualize “Toronto Transit System” to be developed as an enterprising business model run like an efficient, effective and productive business entity & must be VOID of any political or union interference. This (TTC) must be open to have participation (stock option) in not only domestically but also internationally.
2. Why are you the best candidate for this position?
Out of all of the challenging candidates including the present incumbent, I am the only candidate who has a successful and enterprising track record of performance both domestic & internationally. ETOBICOKE consists of a very diverse community with many cultures and I am a Candidate who understands most of these cultures as my current business requirements include an effective communication within this diverse cultures. I am a first generation Canadian entrepreneur who immigrated to Canada during 2002 and quickly adapted to newer social, behavioral, community and business Canadian requirements. I strongly believe in “human resource” which continues to be the best resource on earth. Moreover, when it comes to ‘Team Work”, my team and I have generated tangible results within our ETOBICOKE community saving a large residential corporation from a possible bankrupt situation and continue to generate bigger revenue in reserve funds while keeping top-notch services to owners/residents.
3. What specifically do you plan to do for your ward, if elected?
My vision of ETOBICOKE includes a “strong and enterprising business community” generating local revenue and local employment to all ages and groups. Developing in association with business community the centers of tourist attraction, food & culture and vigorously promoting ETOBICOKE and attracting more tourism to this part of Toronto. Working towards building faith & confidence with our vibrant community and restore their confidence that municipal governance is one of my top priorities. This indeed includes a responsive COUNCILLOR & my team and I will strive and engage every day within the COUNCILLOR office and also within the community. One of the best management practices is “participative management” and my team & I will make genuine and non-partisan efforts to educate and motivate all age groups (especially the young generation) to get involved in local municipal community affairs more effectively as they are the ones who will lead and take adequate care of ETOBICOKE in years to come.
4. Please provide details on your personal bio.
I have been a person who holds immense determination and motivation to strive and grow since I came to Canada with my family in 2002. Like many immigrant Canadians, a resettlement within a similar field was a great setback, as one must surpass the regulations of the Canadian systems. For me, leaving behind a job of expertise in the field of pharmaceutical in India was a daring act at an immense level. However, without any hesitation, I decided to initiate my business project in a security alarm industry (2004), which is a great turnaround when compared to pharmaceuticals. I continue to contribute my strong volunteer support to our own condominium community by being elected as Vice President (2007) on the board of directors.
5. Who do you plan to support for mayor?
Selecting a right Mayor for Toronto continues to be a very personal & informed decision. I would well exercise my decision for sure and will work and contribute to the best of my ability in a team environment with the new Mayor of Toronto
