1. What key issues define your campaign platform?
Key issues that define my campaign platform include Fiscal Restraint & Accountability; Economic Revitalization; Public Transit; Public Safety; Housing; Youth Programs; Public Health; and Environmental Stewardship. The message is clear …”Taxpayers must be provided with a dollar’s worth of services for a dollar’s worth of taxes”. My key campaign deliverables of reducing property taxes by 10% and eliminating both the vehicle registration and land transfer taxes represent a modest requirement to decrease the overall tax burden by $550 million over 4 years on a $9.2 billion budget. I will achieve my campaign goals by working collaboratively with the newly elected city council, city administrators and labour representatives.

2. Why are you the best candidate for this position?
I am the best suited candidate on the basis on my professional credentials and accomplishments that are specific to public sector operations. Additionally, I am the only candidate with large scale service-based operations management experience in a unionized environment where revenues exceeded $100 million. As a transportation systems professional, I am in a position to provide leadership and vision in the areas of parking systems, bussing and commercial vehicle operations at the city-wide committee level. As an Economist with an MBA, my competencies are both timely and relevant to providing the citizens of Toronto with business experience and common sense that has been in short supply at City Hall.

3. What specifically do you plan to do for your ward, if elected?
I will implement a system of scheduled town hall meetings that will provide my neighbours in Ward 2 with the opportunity to voice their priorities and concerns. My approach as councillor will be that of representing the agenda of all Ward 2 constituents at City Hall.

4. Please provide details on your personal bio.
I am confident my professional experience over the last 25 years has prepared me to make a positive contribution as your Councillor. Business accomplishments include my international experience in the fields of transportation and facility management at four international airports, including Toronto’s Pearson. I completed an MBA degree, Graduate Diploma in Institutional Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics at Concordia University. Additionally, I have gained valuable professional experience within both the financial services and management consulting sectors, and have proudly served as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces.

5. Who do you plan to support for mayor?
I respect the ability of my fellow Torontonians to elect a mayor of their choosing and will be committed to working collaboratively with the people’s choice. I will not endorse any mayoralty candidate out of respect to my fellow citizens.
