1. What key issues define your campaign platform?
First and foremost, City Hall has to work again. Far too much time is spent arguing and not nearly enough time is spent finding great solutions that meet the interests of Ward 2 as well as the interests of Toronto. We need to stop the “Sandbox Antics” that has crippled City Hall.
The most pressing issues for City Council are:
Improving the City’s operating efficiency and reduce misspending and duplication. We need to ensure we get top-notch service at reduced costs and need a customer service guarantee for all city employees including council.
Also we need to plan now for our Transportation Infrastructure; a “Not During My Term” Attitude has dominated City Hall, putting off important decisions that should have been made a decade ago and are now leaving Torontonians struggling. We need to start saving now to pay for our future growth.

2. Why are you the best candidate for this position?
For over 10 years I have worked as a mediator and have consulted to both public and private organizations to reduce the non-productive and costly conflict they experience. It is a fact, when organizations spend too much time arguing they spend too little time working on issues that need to get done. Conflict is very costly for any organization.
As a true consensus builder, I will work with community groups, business groups, other Wards and levels of government to identify what is important to each, and then help facilitate great solutions. A “one size fits all” approach will not adequately respond to our problems.
I am a life long resident of Ward 2 and will be a fulltime councillor for my constituents. Not only will I continue to deliver the service resident’s expect, I will be a leader in City Council and a strong voice for Ward 2.

3. What specifically do you plan to do for your ward if elected?
First I intend to open dialogues with residents, community leaders and businesses in Ward 2 to discuss the interests of our Ward. As a professional facilitator, I will regularly host town hall meetings to seek guidance and to update constituents.
At City Hall I will collaborate with other members of City Council to discuss the issues that are facing Ward 2 and better understand the issues other wards are facing. By finding common interests, we are better able to tackle our challenges collectively. We can find better solutions for both our Ward and our City.

4. Please provide details on your personal bio.
I’m a 3rd generation Etobicoker and in fact my fiancée Janet and I live in the house built by my grandfather in the 1940’s.
I am a professional mediator and provide dispute resolution services to communities within the GTA and work with various levels of government. I have mediated neighbour disputes, landlord/tenant and zoning disputes along with other disputes that are common in our neighbourhoods.
I have a Masters Degree in Conflict Analysis & Management and a B.A. in Psychology from York University. I am an instructor at Ryerson University and am currently a fulltime mediator with the Ontario Government.

5. Who do plan to support for mayor?
I am not publically endorsing any mayoral candidate. I am not affiliated with any political party and I will collaborate with anyone and everyone.
