1. What key issues define your campaign platform?

It is my firm belief that a councillor should dedicate his time in looking after his constituent’s. I have found that most elected people forget who and why they were elected. They tend not to return calls and e-mails as soon as possible leaving his elector wondering why. Most councillor have other obligations and tend to split their time. Taxpayers deserve full representation and nothing else. A good councillor who loves his ward as I do will patrol and look for things that have to be done and improved. During my canvassing I have seen many Bell telephone and Roger boxes in disrepair and that bothered me, I wrote both companies and they are fixing them. Again I found streets under repair that never seem to get fixed, I got them fixed.

2. Why are you the best candidate for this position?

I believe I am the best candidate because I know how to interact with people and am a good negotiator. We need a councillor that respects others and can work with the opposition if necessary, I know this is a big undertaking and most things need worth doing cannot be done alone. The past council spent money like it was going out of style, not me. Before I spend I want to know what it will cost and make sure the contractor adheres to the bid price. Every dollar spent comes from hard working tax payers and I want to make sure they get their monies worth. Transit is important and subways are the best way to go in the long run. We cannot go the way of the St. Clair street car line. We cannot waste money on an aluminum Palm tree for $120,000.00, I have better use for that money. Spending and restraint is needed.

3. What specifically do you plan to do for your ward, if elected?

Ward 10 needs more benches on main streets and parks for seniors to rest while out walking. We need more Wheel Trans in operation for seniors to be able to book one week in advance without calling every day. More activities are need to keep children off the streets in a protected environment. I would be looking into a position of child daycare with registered people at an affordable price. Families are having a tough time and need our help now. TTC fares should be reduced which will make more people use them. Bike lanes are very important.

4. Please provide details on your personal bio.

My wife Jean and I have lived and worked in North York for 55 years, raised 3 children. Myself I started out as a T.V. Technician and later went into the insurance business for about 40 years. Have done a lot of community work, help start Meals on Wheels with B’nai B’rith, fund raised for Multiple Sclerosis, ran picnics for under privileged children and taught many children arts and crafts. I have a great vision for helping people in need when needed.

5. Who do you plan to support for mayor?

At the present time I am leaning towards Mr. Rossi.
