Why are you the best candidate for this position?

A persistent problem we have been faced with for a long time here in Ward 24 is a lack of action and leadership.
I have a long track record of active community involvement. I have over 27 years of experiences in accounting, finance, management, and business development. My real estate and facilities consulting firm has been thriving here in Willowdale for 12 years.
I know our community, I understand its needs and its potentials. But most of all, I am committed, because, as with everyone else, I care about my community.
With my expertise and experiences, together with the relationships I have built over the years, I am determined to make the effort to help, to ask for help, and to listen to others to make our community and our city the greatest place to live and work and play.

What specifically do you plan to do for your ward, if elected?

Some of the immediate action items on my list are the following:
• Controlling the development in line with transit expansion
• Enhancing the community centre facilities and programs
• Beautifying Yonge Street with signage, planters, and clean-up efforts
• Developing state-of-the-art educational facilities
• Pushing to expedite transit development and better bus services
• Attracting the private sector to sponsor/build community/educational facilities
Efficient and reliable services and facilities form the base of a strong community. When we are well supported, we are more productive, and in turn we are better able to enhance our quality of life.

Please provide details on your personal bio.

I served in various executive capacities for many groups and associations such as the Willowdale Federal Liberal Riding Association, Korean Canadian Scholarship Foundation, Metro Caravan, Junior Achievement, and the Riverdale Swim Team.
I have extensive experience in large scale real estate and facilities consulting. Some of the multinational corporations I helped to locate in the Greater Toronto Area include Kia Motors, Omron Dualtech, and Shinhan Bank. I am also committed to helping the smaller businesses by sharing my knowledge at seminars such as “How to Start or Buy a Business,” “Finding the Right Location,” and “Prudent Investment In Real Estate.”

Who do you plan to support for mayor?

My view is that division and factions in the city council are simply not beneficial. Whoever the mayor is, it is the role of all the councillors to work with the mayor and the rest of the council to keep our city moving, working and improving.
On a personal level, I expect an ideal mayoral candidate to be:
• A team player open to ideas and attentive to the representatives of the citizens;
• An honest hard worker with a strong sense of integrity and fortitude in taking action;
• A leader with a vision, a strong will, and the capability to make Toronto the best place to live and work.
