Ward 25 (Don Valley West)

Spanning at whopping 24 kilometres of land between Don Mills Road, Yonge Street, Highway 401 and Eglinton Avenue East, ward 25 is amongst the largest in the city’s central area.

An affluent area containing several large parks and a golf course, it is composed mainly of property owners living in detached homes.

Constituents in this neighbourhood are concerned about issues surrounding taxation and property ownership, but new candidates may be able to hash out new issues to heat up the race.

Incumbent Cliff Jenkins won the a hotly contested vote in 2003 but continued to gain support, winning in 2006 by a clear majority.

This year, new challengers aim to compete for his council chair.
