1. What key issues define your campaign platform?

Responsible spending at City Hall – Councillors need to make intelligent choices with taxpayers’ hard-earned money.  We need to invest wisely in services and resources that will improve the quality of life for residents.
This includes:
Maintaining good programs and services
Eliminating wasteful practices and unproductive programs
Improving delivery of services such as garbage and road repairs
Working towards giving tax relief to seniors
Emphasizing long-term planning over expensive Band-Aid solutions
Putting taxpayer concerns ahead of political agendas
Provide a supportive environment for business — we need more money in more people’s pockets, and that happens through successful businesses and better-paying jobs
Eliminate the Car Registration Tax
Eliminate the Land Transfer tax
Improve the TTC’s level of service; choose to build subways instead of streetcars

2. Why are you the best candidate for this position?

I’m an area resident who’s affected by local issues. I’m active in local organizations and have fought alongside neighbours and residents for our community. I know how to work with people and I’ve never been afraid to fight for what’s important. Before moving to Ward 7, I was raised in a culturally diverse area and I welcome new ideas and experiences.
My work experience taught me to be responsible with money. More importantly, I was trained to make customer satisfaction my top priority. As your Councillor, my top priority will be to satisfy your needs. We need to cut wasteful spending but we cannot starve essential programs and services.
I’m running to improve our quality of life in Ward 7, not to build a political empire. I will not play favorites.  My office door will always be open.   As your Councillor, I will re-establish leadership, trust, and accountability.

3. What specifically do you plan to do for your ward, if elected?

Bring together the “four corners” of Ward 7. I want to engage all our residents. People are this ward’s greatest resource, and we need to develop everyone’s potential.
Develop a supportive environment for local business — Ward 7 needs a vibrant economy, and residents need good paying jobs.
Make sure our Ward maintains and improves community services and resources, such as community centres, libraries, garbage pick-up, and road repairs.
Develop a good working relationship with all levels of government (M.P., M.P.P., and School Trustees) — we need to maximize all resources and relationships.

5. Who do you plan to support for mayor?

I intend to work with whoever wins, but my primary concern will be to serve the best interests of Toronto taxpayers and my own constituents in Ward 7.
