Ward 35 (Scarborough Southwest)

The south-west Scarborough ward bounded by Victoria Park Avenue Eglinton Avenue East and the CNR tracks to the south was left vacant in 2006, when long-time councillor Gerry Altobello retired from municipal politics.

The election to replace him was close-fought. In the end, candidate Adrian Heaps won a narrow victory over Michelle Berardinetti, married to local MPP and former city councillor Lorenzo Berardinetti.

Berardinetti is back to challenge Heaps for the council seat in this year’s Ward 35 municipal election race.

Issues in the ward include bike lanes on Pharmacy Avenue.
