What is your campaign platform?
Toronto has a spending problem, not a revenue problem. Spending has increased at three times the rate of inflation and debt has tripled in the past eight years. This is unsustainable. Toronto must control spending and introduce better planning to protect tax payers hard earned money. I commit to:
Eliminate the motor vehicle tax
Eliminate the land transfer tax
Ensure the city focuses on core requirements, not special interests
Maximize the use of city resources
Develop a balanced transportation plan.
The Toronto Party has a complete Transportation Plan that included subways, not streetcars. This balance includes new expressways and bicycle lanes in hydro corridors.
Improve the accountability of council.
Reduce the councillor budget to $30,000 per year and limit the nature of the expenses.
Eliminate the councillors perks.
Push for either term limits or election reform (preferred)
Ensure Residents voices & concerns are both heard & acted on.

Why are you the best choice for Ward Councillor? 
Glenn has over 30 years experience as a controller managing companies finances and operations. Glenn has an abundance of business skills and acumen currently lacking at city hall. This includes financial and senior management skills.
Glenn will use his abundant business skills to restore competent fiscal management at city hall. He will also challenge the status quo and fight for voters tax dollars. Glenn will introduce best practice planning methods to ensure the best use of city resources.
Glenn’s not afraid to make tough decisions, to ensure that what’s right is always done. He is not a yes man.
Glenn has already been active volunteering in the community and cares. Glenn is personable and approachable.
Glenn is well aware of the many challenges that both residents and businesses face.
Glenn plans to introduce changes to bylaw enforcement measures that make our city more livable.
Glenn believes in service before self.

What will you do for Ward 38? 
Glenn will push for subways, not streetcars, so Scarborough doesn’t get short changed, again. Scarborough residents and businesses can’t afford another St. Clair streetcar disaster.
Glenn will have frequent localized Town Hall meetings to ensure residents’ voices are heard. Glenn will implement measures to ensure that follow up on issues & communications is maintained and that council is accountable to residents. Glenn will ensure that residents truly have a voice on council. He will put the concerns of residents before special interests, such as bike lanes.
Glenn will work with the business community to address the needs of the ward.

Personal bio:
Glenn Middleton, is a Certified Management Accountant that has served as a controller for over 30 years. During this time he established himself as a “change agent”, reorganizing companies to survive and save jobs. He has a keen business acumen.
His experience includes all financial matters, Human Resources, Sales Management, Information Systems, Tax, Logistics and Operations Management.
Glenn’s management style is open, participative and non-confrontational.
Glenn has been active in many community groups.
Glenn has lived in Scarborough for 27 years and is married to Annette, his partner of 30 years, and has two sons aged 16 to 21.

Who do you plan to support for mayor?
I support Rob Ford, as his platform and mine are a lot alike.
