Sandip Vora – Ward 38 candidate

What key issues define your campaign platform?
It has become very clear that we need change at city hall. As a longtime resident of Scarborough, successful local businessman and a father of two, Sandip has seen firsthand the impact of wasteful and uncontrolled spending by the city. The result has been higher taxes, higher bills, layoffs, fewer services, constantly increasing transit fares, garbage fees, the fiscal mismanagement of your tax money and totally no respect for the taxpayers. People are fed up with ineffective representation. It is good to plant trees, build bike lanes and splash pads but first we need to ensure that we have proper roads, jobs, crime free neighborhood and basic facilities to support our families.
Why are you the best candidate for this position?
Sandip is a first generation immigrant and a successful entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience growing business and creating jobs. Sandip is a young, vibrant resident of Scarborough, who has lived in this community, with his wife and 2 kids, for the past 7 years.
As a resident and local business owner, Sandip knows the problems faced by the residents and businesses. He believes in getting the job done right and understands the importance of financial planning. Sandip has been engaged in community work helping the new immigrants to settle down and work with the local non-profit organizations to make Scarborough more safe, secure and livable.
What specifically do you plan to do for your ward, if elected?
The first thing Sandip will do is to open a community office and be there regularly, so that people in Ward 38 know where to find him and have an opportunity to talk to him about the issues facing our community. He wants to be accessible to everyone, and is committed to responding to the needs of Ward 38. Sandip will push for replacing LRT with subways and extending it to U of T Scarborough. Sandip will ensure that Scarborough is not left on the back burner at city hall and treated as suburb but treated as an integral part of the city to bring its old glory days back.
