Ward 40 (Scarborough-Agincourt)

This part of Agincourt between Hwy. 401 and Finch Avenue, will see significant changes as the Sheppard East Light-Rail Transit Line is built through it.

Among the issues in this year’s municipal election are considerations by the city for possible future development along Finch on either side of Warden Avenue.

A redevelopment plan adding condominium towers to Bridlewood Mall at the intersection remains unpopular with some area residents.

Partly in the ward, Steeles-L’Amoureaux is a priority neighbourhood the city says is short of services and social supports.

Also at issue is a proposed collumbarium plan on Birchmount Road, a small cemetery for cremated remains, that has many residents upset.
