1. Why are you the best candidate for trustee?
Experience Counts.
* My extensive experience serving the parents, constituents and students of the 22 schools in Ward 5 – York Centre as the Constituency Assistant cannot be matched.
* Partnerships were formed with local organizations whose focus is in the area of special education.
* Resources were provided for the parents, constituents and students.
* Built a successful relationship with school staff and administrative staff.
* Leadership abilities were demonstrated in the role as Constituency Assistant.

2. What changes would you like to see at the school board in the next four years?
* Ensure that access to computers and technology used in the skilled-trades area is provided to students on an equal basis across the school board system.
* Increase the level of consultation with parents and constituents far in advance of any final decision being made about any school closures.
* Bring parents and school staff together is a priority. By drawing parents and staff closer together this helps increase and protect the safe environment in the school.
* Additional funding for Special Education is Necessary. The increase in students being recognized with exceptionalities need additional funding at the TDSB.

3. What is your position on the TDSB consolidating under-enrolled schools and selling off closed school properties?
Many of the families of students may have all graduated from the same school that is slated to be closed. Therefore, consultations set-up far in advance of any final decision being made is important for the community that is being affected. If innovative solutions are found to keep the school open through such programs as continuing education that generate revenue for the TDSB and maintain full-enrollment for a school, then the problem can be solved.

4. Do you support the province’s decision to try to negotiate two-year, no wage increase contracts with the school board’s unionized employees when existing agreements expire?
At this time, the decision made by the province and the issues surrounding their decision should be looked into more closely before an answer is given.
