1. Why are you the best candidate for trustee?
I am the best candidate for trustee for Ward 8 (Eglinton-Lawrence) because I offer a fresh approach to a system that is in dire need of change. I have seen first hand the state of our schools, having recently gone through the Toronto public educational system in our riding. I would take my duties as TDSB Trustee seriously, and do everything in my power to fix the problems we are currently facing. I would always make myself available through electronic channels and even personal visits to our schools whenever possible.

2. What changes would you like to see at the school board in the next four years?
I believe that two of our most important changes that need to be addressed by our TDSB are those of safety and maintenance of our schools. Unless a student can feel safe and secure in a clean environment, other issues cannot be addressed in an effective manner. I would personally take on the responsibility to make regular visits to all school in our riding. This way I could check out the progress first hand and work closely with all of our principals. After all, it is the principals who are best aware of their own unique needs.

3. What is your position on the TDSB consolidating under-enrolled schools and selling off closed school properties?
Unfortunately, it may be necessary to close down some school due to the lack of student enrollment. We must make it as painless as possible for both the students and their families to leave the school that they are accustomed to in order to attend another school. If necessary, we must always provide transportation to those who require it.

4. Do you support the province’s decision to try to negotiate two-year, no wage increase contracts with the school board’s unionized employees when existing agreements expire?
In order for me to support the provinces decision to negotiate a two year, no wage increase contract, I would need to be assured that the deal offered to the unionized employees is a fair one that would compensate them for their sacrifice.

5. Please provide personal details on your bio.
I am 25 years old and have lived in this riding my entire life. I attended school at North Prep, Oriole Park, Forest Hill Jr. High and graduated from Forest Hill CI (2003). I have also received a diploma from George Brown College, having completed a 3 year, Business Administration: Marketing program (2006). For the last three years, I have been employed by a major Canadian financial institution at their regional head office. I have always had a keen interest in politics, especially with the issues that directly affect me and my community as a whole.
