1. Why are you the best candidate for trustee?
I have sat as a Student Trustee on the Halton Catholic District School Board while I was in High School. I have the experience. I was an Educational Consultant for a classroom technology company for four years. I know which technologies need to be implemented into our schools first. I sit on the Mimico Minor Lacrosse Clubs Executive as VP of Field. Coached and helped over 200 kids develop their athleticism within the community.

2. What changes would you like to see at the school board in the next four years?
Every child needs to have access to the internet. I will bring in innovative ways for teachers to expose Student to this in a safe and instructional fashion. We need to stop buying SMARTboards. There is no evidence that this technology increases student learning. We need to create a digital community for our teachers to share digital content.

3. What is your position on the TDSB consolidating under-enrolled schools and selling off closed school properties?
Land is the Boards’ most valuable asset, second only to its Students. We need to be careful selling off limited Toronto land, when there are condos popping up all over. We may be under-enrolled and shrinking as a board currently, but we can’t predict the future. We must find alternative streams of revenue to sustain our needs.

4. Do you support the province’s decision to try to negotiate two-year, no wage increase contracts with the school board’s unionized employees when existing agreements expire?
Given the current economic uncertainty, we can’t rule anything out. If private sector employees are taking pay cuts and layoffs, we shouldn’t expect our public sector employees to not follow suit.
